Tasting notes

A juicy, approachable red built mainly around Kyoho table grapes grown in Tomi City, lifted by a small addition of estate press wine from Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Soft and fruit-forward, with the gentle character typical of Domaine Nakajima’s natural winemaking.

Food pairing

Everyday dishes — grilled meats, pizza, casual Japanese and Western home cooking.

Winemaking

The Kyoho grapes, a table-grape variety for which Tomi City is well known, are fermented with wild yeast; a small portion of gently pressed estate red-wine lots (Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc) is blended in for added structure and interest. As with all Domaine Nakajima wines, no sulphites are added and the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
