Tasting notes

Fresh aroma of blackberries, red berry confiture, gentle French oak aroma, firm but well-balanced acidity and tannins, rich and fruity finish. Slightly dark ruby color. A deep ruby color with a fresh, sweet and sour aroma of raspberry, and confiture, and a slight purple tinge. The taste is dry, but the aroma gives off a slight sweetness. A red wine with a good balance of acid and tannins that is satisfying but never tiring. After a few days opening, the cooked fruit aroma and flavor will be enhanced.

Food pairing

Kara-age (deep-fried chicken), blue cheese, chèvre cheese, gyoza, charcuterie

Winemaking

MBA in 2022VT suffered from flower blooming, and the yield was 1500 fewer than the previous year’s 21VT. Instead, the remaining bunches have a concentrated flavor and have reached an all-time high in sugar content. The volume of aroma and flavor is greater than previous MBAs, and the aftertaste lasts longer. As the vines age, they develop into wines that are both powerful and elegant.

Muscat Bailey A, a variety indigenous to Japan, is used. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks without crushing the grapes, using only wild yeasts. After maturing in wooden barrels, the wine was filtered through a coarse filter (75µ) and bottled. No added sugar, acid or fining. Made from grapes harvested from the winery’s oldest vines, which are 22 years old. The wine can be drunk now or matured for a long time to enjoy its different expressions.
